1. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little data as possible. Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following categories.
- Support information you provide, such as an email address and the content of your message if you contact us
- Device and app data, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and region
- Diagnostics and performance data, such as crash logs and basic stability metrics
- Subscription related metadata, such as entitlement status, in app purchase events, and renewal status as provided by the app store platform
We do not require you to create an account to use core authenticator functionality.
2. How we use information
- To provide and maintain app functionality
- To respond to support requests and communicate with you
- To monitor performance, debug issues, and improve reliability
- To manage subscriptions and access to paid features
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
3. Authenticator tokens and backups
Authenticator entries and 2FA secrets are typically stored locally on your device. If you use features like export or backup, you control where that data is stored.
- If you export tokens, the export file may allow access to your codes by anyone who obtains it
- If you enable cloud or device backups, your device or cloud provider may store backup data under its own terms
- If you set a passcode, biometric lock, or encryption option in the app, you are responsible for keeping those credentials safe
We cannot restore tokens for you if you lose your device and do not have a usable backup.
4. Sharing and disclosure
We may share information only in these situations.
- Service providers that help operate the app, such as crash reporting or analytics, under appropriate contractual protections
- Compliance with law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request
- Protection of rights, safety, and security of users, the app, and the public
- Business transfers such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, where permitted by law
5. Third party services
The app may use third party services for functionality, diagnostics, analytics, or payments. These providers may process information under their own privacy policies. Examples can include platform services from Apple or Google, and optional analytics or crash reporting providers.
6. Data retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. Diagnostics data is typically retained for a limited period to investigate issues and improve stability.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below.
